Sophie is one of two Public Relations executives for the Network of Empowered Woman Sixth Annual Conference 2018! Sophie is a University of Alberta graduate – with a degree in biological sciences and is now completing an after-degree in marketing at the Alberta School of Business. As a first year Business student she was fortunate to hold the position of Cohort Representative with the Business Student Association as well as the position of VP Public Relations with the 5 Days for the Homeless 2017 Campaign. These different roles have allowed her grow as a business student as well as an individual. Looking forward, she is very excited to be a part of the NEW 2017-2018 team!
Sophie attended the Fifth Annual Network of Empowered Woman Conference 2017 as a delegate. As the conference came to an end an air of enlightenment and confidence encouraged her to want to share such an inspirational and uplifting experience with others. As a Public Relations executive she hopes to convey all that the NEW conference is by creating an unforgettable conference for all those attending this year!
Aside from academics, on her spare time she works as a freelance makeup artist – ‘Allowing others to feel beautiful and confident from the inside-out is the most satisfying part of what I do’. Sophie is also a VERY frequent Starbucks customer, she loves to eat delicious food and her favorite color is pink! Now that you all know Sophie so well, she must tell you all that she is truly excited for this years’ conference and is looking forward to making it the greatest NEW conference yet!
Alyssa is currently in the fourth year of her Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Marketing and a minor in Strategic Management and Organization. After attending the 2016 conference as a student delegate, Alyssa left feeling inspired and knew that she needed to share this extraordinary experience with others. Alyssa is thrilled to be the joining the team as the Public Relations Director to provide delegates with an unforgettable experience at NEW.
In addition to her passion for NEW, Alyssa is also the VP Events for the Business Finance Association and she is a part of the Cooperative Education Program. Her work and academic experiences have given her the opportunity to learn from and interact with a number of amazing people, students and industry professionals alike. Apart from her academics, Alyssa is passionate about make-up artistry and visual design.
