Nancy is currently in her fourth year of business majoring in human resources. Although she did not attend last year’s conference, hearing about all of the stories and the way people felt after leaving NEW, inspired her to not only attend, but to get involved with the team. Wanting to be a part of something big was a goal for Nancy going into her last year of business, and she is thrilled to be your VP Public Relations for this year. Nancy has also been a part of the University of Alberta Marketing Association in her last two years of business, as well as the Victoria’s Secret PINK Campus Team in a very similar role – getting participants excited about events and recruiting people to come out and attend. She is also a part of the cooperative education program, and is currently working with the Government of Alberta as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, where she has been able to network and learn from a variety of different mentors across the public sector. Aside from academics, Nancy loves to eat and is a huge foodie. She has also always been a sports junkie, and since parting from her involvement with formal sports, she channels her energy into working out, mostly so she can keep up with her eating habits. Nancy also loves travelling, hiking, and Netflix. She is so excited to meet you all at this year’s NEW conference and hopes to make the experience unforgettable for each and every one of you!
Cynthia is currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Management Information Systems. After attending the 2018 Network of Empowered Women Conference, she was inspired by all the individuals that she has met and wants to devote her final year in university by contributing to an organization that she is passionate about. Outside of school, she is a certified makeup artist and takes boxing as a hobby. Although she was born in Edmonton, she spent ten years living in Hawaii and San Francisco.
