Co-Chair | choluj@ualberta.ca

Julia Choluj is a fourth year Marketing and Human Resources major that has been working in the Ministry of International and Intergovernmental Relations for the GoA over the past eight months on a co-op work term. This is Julia’s second year on the Network of Empowered Women (NEW) executive team, having been the Director of Hotel and Transportation for the inaugural conference. Julia has a love for social enterprise and not for profit work. Over the past four years Julia has co organized an annual  fundraiser for the Canadian Water Works foundation (CWW). In the summer of 2012 Julia took the initiative to travel to Asia for over three months along side the President and Founder of CWW to witness the construction and use of water filtration systems in India. She immediately bonded with many local Indian communities and found a passion for Kalanjiums, or female lead micro finance groups. Julia is also a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada and a ZUMBA instructor that loves to dance! Julia is excited and enthusiastic about the opportunities that NEW will bring to its network via its newsletter, various events this year and of course, the 2014 conference!
