Monika is in her fourth year of university, majoring in Business Economics and Law and minoring in Political Science. She had an inspiring and thought-provoking experience at the 2015 NEW conference, and she hopes to contribute her efforts towards building the same experience for others. This is her second year on the NEW executive team, and she is excited see the group grow and continue to thrive. She likes to keep busy in the School of Business community; she serves as an executive for the Alberta Not for Profit Association and as a writer for Lazy-Faire Magazine. For the past two summers, she has worked as a summer student for the Government of Alberta, strengthening her policy and research skills. When she’s not studying, she loves to talk politics, watch movies, travel, and spend time with friends and family. Some of her long term goals include writing a book and exploring Asia. She is grateful for the opportunity to lead the events team, and to help make NEW 2017 a vibrant, inspiring and meaningful experience.
Ali is in her fourth year of her Bachelor of Commerce Degree pursuing a Major in Marketing and a Minor in Retailing and Services. After her extraordinary experience at the NEW Conference last year she knew she needed to be a part of this inspiring group.
Ali loves to keep herself busy in the School of Business. In addition to being a Director of Events for NEW, she is also the President of the University of Alberta Marketing Association as well as a Senior Consultant for the School of Retailing. Along with planning events for student groups, Ali works as the Assistant Wedding and Event Coordinator at the Devonian Botanic Garden where she has the pleasure of helping plan major events and weddings. She is so excited to bring her passion for events to the NEW team this year and hopes to make your conference experience just as life changing as hers!
Saba is currently in her last year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Marketing. There is only one way to describe her delegate experience at NEW- life changing. As an Events Director this year, Saba cannot wait for others to experience NEW like she did. Saba likes to keep herself busy around campus; she is a UAlberta Ambassador, writer for Lazy-Faire Magazine, and the current Business Councilor on the Student’s Union Council. When she’s not running from meeting to meeting, Saba also enjoys competing in case competitions.
When she is not on campus, Saba spends her time presenting at conferences geared towards the empowerment of women. Saba’s hobbies include playing piano, competitive swimming, and binge watching tv shows. Having worked for both the municipal and the provincial government, Saba is excited to pursue a career in the public sector upon graduation. However, her ultimate goal is to own her own business, write a book, and become a motivational speaker.
