Helen Cashman is a third year Operations Management student, with a minor in Strategic Management and Organizations. She is also a member of the Business Leadership Certificate Program, and is working towards the University of Alberta’s certificate in sustainability.
Throughout her time at the School of Business, Helen has been involved with many different student organizations including the Business Students’ Association, the Alberta not-for-profit association, the Rocky Mountain Business Seminar, and the Operations Management Club. She has also participated in many case competitions including JDC West, the Ethics in Action competition at Dalhousie University, and the Hong Kong University Case Competition.
Outside of University, Helen is passionate about volunteering and currently serves as the Executive Director of SUNIA, a summer camp for high school students focused on the United Nations, international affairs, and social justice concepts. She is also a competitive Irish and Highland dancer and a volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada.
When she’s not working late in the Business building, you can find her waterskiing at her cottage in Northern Alberta, talking politics with her friends, or eating grilled cheese.
In the future, Helen is looking forward to using the skills learned at the Alberta School of Business in the not for profit sector.
